CLEARFIELD – A father and son are facing charges following a fight over car keys.
According to affidavits of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office May 3, Randy G. Dickey, 52, and Dalton Gene Dickey, 24, both of 127 Luther Ave., DuBois, are charged by the DuBois City police with assault and harassment.
According to the affidavit, police were called to the Luther Avenue home May 3, for a fight. When the officers arrived, they spoke to Dalton Dickey, who was bleeding from the nose. He allegedly told police he had gotten into a fight with his father, because his father blamed him for taking the keys to a vehicle.
Dalton Dickey allegedly told police that his father had cornered him in the house, than tackled him. He said he and his father were wrestling and punching each other on the ground and his father had punched him in the face with a closed fist.
The officers then spoke to Randy Dickey, who allegedly said his son had just moved back into the house with them and had been causing trouble ever since.
Randy Dickey said he and his son had gotten into an argument earlier that day, which escalated. He said his son took the keys to his vehicle and when he confronted his son, Dalton Dickey “got in his face.”
Randy Dickey allegedly said the argument then got physical when his son came after him. He allegedly admitted to punching his son in the face and said they both ended up on the ground.
The officers observed that Randy Dickey had scratches on his chest and back and redness around his nose from being hit.
