Extra Book Sale
Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre
An extra book sale will be held Friday, May 8 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre in downtown Clearfield.
CAST will also have cassette tapes, CDs, videos, DVDs and records for sale.
The CAST annex is located at 112 E. Locust St. in downtown Clearfield next to the main building.
Tea and Talk – Local History, Parker Dam
Meet at 6:30 p.m. – Beach House steps
Sweet fern makes an excellent hot tea. Learn how to identify it and make the tea. Then, try some sweet fern tea for yourself and while enjoying, talk about the interesting local history. Dog Gone Fun Days
Curwensville Lake
The Curwensville Lake Authority, in conjunction with several pet organizations and clinics, will host “Dog Gone Fun Days” at Curwensville Lake. The event will take place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, May 9.
The Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic’s 5K Walk registration will be at 8 a.m. at the lake. The 5K walk will be from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Please call the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic to register at 814-857-5280.
A local veterinarian will offer a rabies vaccination for $10 and microchip for $30. There will also be doggie games with the Mountain Laurel Kennel Club, demonstrations on grooming and nail trimming and obedience training.
Dogs will be able to run free in the Curwensville Lake Dog Park. There will also be a food booth provided by Friends of the Lake.

Dollar a Day Boys, Parker Dam
Michigan-based author Bill Jamerson will present Dollar-A-Day Boys! at Parker Dam State Park on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m. in the Environmental Education Classroom, annexed to the Park Office.
Dollar-A-Day Boys! is a musical tribute to and storytelling program about the Civilian Conservation Corps. The program is co-sponsored by the Pennsylvania Lumber Heritage Region and is free to the public.
The presentation includes telling stories, singing original songs and reading excerpts from Jamerson’s novel. Jamerson has performed at CCC reunions around the country and at CCC built national and state parks.
The program is as entertaining as it is important; as honest as it is fun. It’s about people both ordinary and extraordinary, with stories of strength, wit and charm.

Ritz Theater
Jack’s Distributing will sponsor a free showing of The Beatles “A Hard Day’s Night” on Sunday, May 10. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and the movie will start at 2 p.m.
Jack’s Distributing also has a really sweet door prize that includes a Beatles lunchbox, instant lottery tickets and a gift certificate to Jack’s Distributing.
The “Save the Ritz” Committee will accept donations for the digital projector campaign during the free community movies.

The Human Form Art Class
The Liddle Gallery
The Human Form Art Class will be held at The Liddle Gallery on Mondays from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. You will experience drawing the human form and working with a live model (no nudity).

Play Performance
The Odd Couple
The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre has announced a change in their live theatre performance schedule. The play “A Hotel on Marvin Gardens” has been switched to “The Odd Couple” – female version.
The play is set in the living room of Olive’s messy apartment in New York City. She’s invited the girls over for a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit.
Her long-time friend, queen of clean Florence, has recently separated from her husband and Olive has agreed to let her stay while things are decided or worked out.
The show runs the same dates – May 14-16 and May 21-23 – with curtain at 7 p.m. each show night. The box office opens at 6:30 p.m.
