DUBOIS – DuBois City has designated Central Pennsylvania Community Action (CPCA) to administer the Homeowner Housing Rehabilitation Program utilizing the HOME Program, as funded by the Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED).
The CPCA and DuBois City intend to preserve the existing housing in project areas, reduce blighting influence, correct safety hazards and bring homes into code compliance. This program provides safe and adequate housing and reverses declining property values.
Applicants must own their home, live within DuBois City limits and meet income guidelines. Applicants will be required to show proof of income, home ownership, paid real estate taxes, homeowners insurance and flood insurance where applicable.
Eligible repairs are, but not limited to: sound, substantial foundations; durable roofs; adequate electrical services and wiring; lead-based paint assessment, with children under age of 5 years; energy-efficient windows, insulation and doors; safe and sufficient heating systems; plumbing, kitchen, bathroom and steps.
The focus of the program is bringing the house up to area code enforcement standards and health and safety measures in the home.
