State police at Clearfield

• An incident of theft occurred sometime between April 14 and April 16 in Gulich Township. Further, the victim had a joint account with the suspect who allegedly removed a large amount of money without the victim’s permission. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
• An incident of theft occurred Sunday on Fourth Street in Woodward Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed a Pennsylvania registration plate from the victim’s 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.

State police at DuBois

• An incident of simple assault occurred Saturday on Point View Road in Winslow Township. During the incident, a 70-year-old Reynoldsville man and the victim allegedly engaged in a verbal argument which turned physical. The man allegedly punched the victim in the mouth and was charged through the district court, state police said.
• An accident occurred Saturday on the Reynoldsville – Falls Creek Road in Winslow Township. Paul Baummer of DuBois was traveling south and attempting to avoid hitting a deer that crossed in front of him. He swerved his vehicle into the oncoming lane, missed the deer and overcompensated to travel off the right side of the roadway. His vehicle impacted a tree alongside the road down over a steep embankment. His vehicle came to a final rest at the bottom of the embankment. The Baummer vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene.
• An incident of DUI occurred Friday on Route 28 in Snyder Township. Further, a known 61-year-old Brockway man was allegedly stopped for speeding and found to be intoxicated. He was arrested for DUI and charges are currently pending at this time, state police said.

State police at Ridgway

• An incident of cruelty to animals occurred sometime between March 1, 2014 and Sept. 1, 2014 in Highland Township. During the incident, someone allegedly left two cats locked in plastic animal carriers, and their remains were recently discovered by a hiker. State police said it appears that the carriers were undisturbed through the winter and likely placed at the scene last summer or early fall. Both cats had long, orange fur; one had a blue, nylon collar. The incident remains under investigation at this time, and anyone with information is asked to contact state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.

Clearfield Borough

• Police served two warrants on a male who was taken into custody by Curwensville Borough police. The male was able to pay both warrants in full and was released, police said.
• Police assisted state police at DuBois with contacting a male about a disabled vehicle along the interstate.
• Police assisted state police at Clearfield with apprehending a female who fled in her vehicle through Clearfield Borough. The female was apprehended in Hyde and taken to Penn Highlands for a mental evaluation, police said.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police responded to check the welfare of a female. Upon arrival the female admitted to consuming multiple pills. Emergency personnel transported the female to Penn Highlands Clearfield.
• Police responded to a report about a pothole along the 1000 block of Dorey Street.
• Police responded to South Third Street, where a dog was reportedly running loose.
• Police received a report about video games that were allegedly stolen. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute along Nichols Street. Both parties were separated for the night without charges, police said.
• Police responded to a report about a dog running loose at the intersection of Nichols and West Front streets. Police were able to catch the dog and transport it to the SPCA.  The dog is a white, husky possibly mixed with a German shepherd, police said.
• Police received multiple complaints about vehicles being vandalized in the West Side area. The incidents remain under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call police.
• Police responded to a vehicle lockout along South Second Street.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police served two warrants on a male who was apprehended by state police at Clearfield and Curwensville Borough police.

Lawrence Township

• Police responded to the River Road area after receiving a report about the operator of a tractor-trailer attempting a U-turn under the train bridge. The tractor-trailer was gone upon police arrival to the scene.
• Police received a report about a student who was allegedly in possession of alcohol at the Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School.
• Police received a report about juveniles allegedly being inside an abandoned residence on Carbon Mind Road. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police have initiated an investigation into a hit-and-run accident that occurred in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
• Police received a report about a male who was allegedly being disruptive at the Sheetz store in Wolf Run. Upon arrival police located the male who was allegedly yelling at the machine to place food orders. He was allegedly using obscene language and entered the women’s restroom. Police took him into custody, and he was housed at the jail. Upon investigation police determined the male was on probation in Cambria County and detained him as a result. Charges will be filed against the male as a result of the incident, police said.
• Police received a report about a civil dispute.
• Police received a report about a found bicycle.
• Police were requested to check on a male who possibly had a psychological emergency. Police found the male appeared to be OK.
• Police were requested to check the welfare of a child in a vehicle on Plaza Drive. Upon arrival police found the child was old enough to be in a vehicle alone.
• Police received a report about a suspicious person at the WOKW radio station on River Road. Upon arrival police were unable to locate anyone in the area; police also found everything to be OK at the radio station.
• Police received a report about an alarm at Lowe’s. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police received a report about a traffic complaint on Washington Avenue. Police checked the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
• Police received a report about people racing vehicles up Route 322/153. Police patrolled the area but had negative contact.
• Police received a report about an all-terrain vehicle accident involving injuries in the Glen Richey area. The ATV was being operated on township roads, and citations are currently pending against the operator, police said.
• Police received a report about a disabled tractor-trailer along the Clearfield – Shawville Highway. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.

DuBois City

• Police took a 34-year-old DuBois man into custody for outstanding warrants on Friday. The man appeared at the police station and reported having outstanding warrants through Clearfield County Domestic Relations.  He was detained until being turned over to Domestic Relations officers and transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
• Police were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of West Weber Avenue and South Main Street.  Upon investigation police learned that a 25-year-old Brockway woman was traveling on South Main Street when her vehicle rear-ended another operated by a 26-year-old DuBois woman traveling on West Weber Avenue and crossing South Main Street.  No injuries were reported as a result of the accident; one vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
• Police were dispatched to a local grocery store for an unruly patron on Friday. Upon arrival police learned that a 53-year-old Brockway man had allegedly shoved a cart out of his way and into a shelving unit. Police said that a 2-year-old girl was inside of the cart.  The girl was not injured as a result of the incident. When the father confronted the Brockway man, he allegedly began yelling and swearing; the father asked for an apology and the man allegedly became more irate and verbally abusive, police said. Other patrons left the area and store management was alerted to the problem.  When the Brockway man refused to stop yelling and swearing, store officials were forced to call police. Police said the incident remains under investigation and charges are expected to be filed against the Brockway man.
• Police were dispatched to an apartment building on East Washington Avenue, where someone was allegedly breaking in on Friday.  Upon arrival police learned that the landlord was upstairs working on the apartment.
• Police were dispatched to Walnut Avenue, where a dog was found running loose in the neighborhood on Friday.  The dog was wearing a Clearfield County dog license and owner information was obtained from it.  The owner was contacted and arrived to claim the dog.
• On Friday a 19-year-old DuBois woman called police alleging that she was being harassed by a 24-year-old DuBois man while at a business on West Long Avenue.  Police spoke with all parties involved and advised them not to have further contact with one another.
• Police were dispatched to a West Long Avenue business for a suspicious male on Friday.  A woman told police that she was inside the business, where a male was allegedly using a knife to cut rope.  Upon arrival police spoke with the male who stated he was cutting rope and did not threaten anyone with the knife.
• Police were dispatched to a residence Saturday in the eastside area of DuBois, where there was allegedly a violent man under the influence of a controlled substance.  Upon arrival police took control of the 23-year-old DuBois man.  Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and started to provide care to him. However, the man was allegedly still being violent, and an officer needed to ride in the ambulance to restrain him.  The man, police said, was released to Penn Highlands for treatment.
• As a result of a traffic stop Saturday near the intersection of West Long Avenue and North Franklin Street, a 24-year-old DuBois man was arrested for suspicion of DUI.  Criminal charges are pending an analysis to determine blood alcohol concentration, police said.

Sandy Township

• On Friday a South Brady Street man reported that someone damaged the windshield of an old truck and a window of his building. Also, he told police that they spray-painted words on his garage door.
• A 17-year-old Treasure Lake girl stopped abruptly for a changing traffic light and the 22-year-old Brockway man who was driving behind her was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting her vehicle on Friday. Minor injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
• A Murtland Avenue man reported that there were kids in the neighborhood knocking on doors and running away on Friday. Police patrolled the area but could not locate the kids.
• Police received a report about an intoxicated male at the DuBois Nursing Home on Saturday. Upon arrival the 54-year-old Brockway man was in the kitchen with employees.  Police handled the situation without incident.
• Police picked up a black and white German Shepard in the area of Kiwanis Trail on Sunday. There weren’t any tags on the dog’s collar, police said.
• A Falls Creek woman was turning into a parking space at the Commons and scraped a vehicle next to her own on Sunday. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
