French police have arrested a 24-year-old man who they suspected of planning an imminent attack on “one or two churches,” Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Wednesday.
The man, an IT student, was detained on Sunday in Paris, according to authorities.
Police found weapons and ammunition in his car and at his home and said he was also linked to the killing of a 32-year-old woman who was found dead in her car Sunday.
They said the man had plans to travel to Syria.
Paris was shaken in January by deadly terrorist attacks that targeted the offices of the satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo and a kosher supermarket.
