DUBOIS – District Judge Patrick Ford presided over preliminary hearings April 17.
Charges against the following defendant were withdrawn
- John Kurt Smith, 50, DuBois, had been charged by the DuBois City police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
The following defendants have waived their right to a preliminary hearing. Their cases will be sent to the Clearfield County Court of Common Pleas for further disposition.
- Shelby Ray Pearce, 22, Ridgway, is charged by the Sandy Township police with theft of leased property. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
- Antonia Lamonte Gaskins, 41, DuBois, is charged by the Sandy Township police with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Bail was set at $2,500 unsecured.
- Candice Jill Alvetro, 46, DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with DUI. Bail was set at $1,000 unsecured.
- Drew David Ferguson, 34, Wilcox, is charged with public drunkenness, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by unlawful taking. A charge of misbranding a controlled substance was dismissed. Bail was set at $10,000 monetary.
- Donald James Nelson, 47, Johnsonburg, is charged by the DuBois-based state police with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Bail was set at $2,500 unsecured.
- Laurie Abbas, 41, Mentor, Ohio, is charged by the DuBois City police with terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $10,000 unsecured.
