Jeb Bush will be back in the Big Apple next week.
The former Florida governor is set to attend a “meet and greet” in New York City on April 23 in one of his many recent visits to the fundraising hub as the likely presidential candidate gears up to launch his White House campaign.
The morning event, which is not a fundraiser, will be hosted by the Manhattan Republican Party at the Metropolitan Republican Club on the Upper East Side, according to an invitation obtained by CNN on Friday.
Dozens of New York elites, including fundraisers and community leaders, are expected to attend the gathering, according to a person familiar with the event.
Bush spokesman Tim Miller confirmed that the former governor will attend the event. Manhattan Republican Party Chair Adele Malpass did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Though Bush has not yet officially declared his campaign for president, he has aggressively wooed donors in major fundraising centers like New York and Florida over the past few months.
It would be a significant challenge for anyone else in the GOP field to financially compete with Bush’s fundraising prowess and vast network of supporters. But there is a deep well of money to be tapped in New York City’s finance industry, making it one of the most important fundraising cities for presidential candidates.
At least one other GOP White House hopeful will also be in New York next week: Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, who has also yet to declare his expected candidacy, is scheduled to attend an event hosted by the New York Republican State Committee’s “Empire Club.”
