Ralph R. Johnston Sr., 94, of DuBois died Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born Dec. 22, 1920, he was the son of the late Ralph C. and Marjorie E. (Clarke) Johnston.
He was married to Kathleen F. (Liedl) Johnston. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1968.
Mr. Johnston was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served during World War II aboard the DM31 J. William Ditter.
He was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. He loved to read the newspaper and watch the news, especially news involving politics.
He is survived by two sons, Ralph R. Johnston Jr. and Stephen E. Johnston, both of DuBois; a daughter, Mary R. Myers and her husband, William of Hughesville; a brother, Jack Johnston of Punxsutawney; and two grandchildren, Ross M. and Jill L. Myers.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Dequinze and five brothers, James, Seth, Harry, George and Earl Johnston.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home Inc.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Msgr. Richard Siefer officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
Memorials may be placed with the charity of the donor’s choice.
