Midland, MI (WNEM) — Hospital workers are used to seeing all kinds of things come through their doors; but this weekend, they got a greeting from something they never expected at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
“Yesterday afternoon we had a deer enter our campus,” said Millie Jezior, spokeswoman for MidMichigan Health.
The deer was caught on surveillance camera here, running towards the building. But what happened next was shocking.
It jumped through the hospital window, sending glass shards flying.
And surveillance footage then captured it leaving the building, most likely out of an exit door, pushing its way out.
“This is absolutely the first time we’ve had a deer enter our property, literally, enter our property,” said Jezior.
The hospital said one of their staffers actually witnessed part of the ordeal.
“And the deer leaped through the window, over her head – over her desk – exited the building through a hallway,” said Jezior.
The whole incident was apparently very quick, and officials don’t believe anyone was ever in danger.
“The deer was in the building for about two minutes, it was scared, it was spooked, it ran through a long hallway and found its way out,” said Jezior.
Fortunately, both human and deer seem to be OK, just both shaken up; but the mystery remains of where the furry friend is now.
