CLEARFIELD – A Frenchville woman charged with stealing tax money has been sentenced in Clearfield County Court.
Lucinda Ann Cardinale collected the earned income tax for Girard Township. Further, she was accused of taking money that was intended for the Clearfield Area School District, according to court documents.
She has pleaded guilty to a felony count of theft by unlawful taking and was sentenced to 10 months to two years less one day in jail with four years consecutive probation.
To date, Cardinale has paid $40,200 toward her total restitution of $52,000.
District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. stated that the original plea was written with the requirement that she resign her position voluntarily.
