State police at Clearfield
- An incident of theft/access device fraud occurred Tuesday on South Street in Curwensville Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly obtained the victim’s check card information and used it for four transactions in the amount of $711. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- A two-vehicle accident occurred Tuesday at the intersection of Route 255 and Route 153 in Huston Township. Lela Boeke of Asbury, NJ was traveling north on Route 153; she failed to stop at a red light and collided with the side of a vehicle operated by Edward Chesnoka of DuBois. Both Boeke and Chesnoka were wearing their seatbelts; no injuries were reported as a result of the accident. Boeke will be cited for the accident, state police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police were contacted about child custody issues.

DuBois City
- On Monday, police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment from a 24-year-old DuBois man. He told police that he was walking by a North Church Street residence when its occupants started yelling and calling him names. He also told police that the individuals have a problem with him and will not leave him alone. Police contacted the individuals who claimed to be victims of harassment, which has been ongoing and problematic. Police warned everyone involved to cease further contact with each other.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Monday in the 100 block of Quarry Avenue. Further, a 21-year-old DuBois woman told police that she was assaulted by a 23-year-old DuBois woman. Upon arrival to the scene, police said both women reported being assaulted by the other. Both were cited for harassment as a result of the incident, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Monday on East Weber Avenue. Further, a DuBois female juvenile told police that another female juvenile had assaulted her. Upon interviews police found the parties involved didn’t want to pursue any prosecution and there wasn’t any action required by police.
- On Monday, police received a report from an Olive Avenue resident who had allegedly been chased by their neighbor’s dog. Police located the dog’s owner and advised them of leash laws; police encouraged the dog’s owner to keep it leashed while outside to avoid a citation.
- Police received a report about a vehicle accident Monday in the parking lot of the city building on West Scribner Avenue. Further, a 40-year-old DuBois man was backing up in the parking lot when his vehicle struck another that was parked there. Police assisted with the exchange of information between the individuals involved in the accident.
- Police received a report about an active burglar alarm Monday at a private residence on South Third Street. Upon arrival police found a man and his wife had activated the alarm, and he didn’t have its code information.
- Police received a report about a dog allegedly attacking another dog Tuesday in the 500 block of Chestnut Avenue. At the time of the report, police said it wasn’t clear if the caller’s dog had sustained injuries; the owner of the dog, which attacked the caller’s dog, offered to pay for any medical bills. The caller, police said, refused any prosecution as a result of the incident.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance Tuesday on Hope Street. Upon investigation police found a female was trying to leave the residence with an infant child; a male refused to let them leave. Police were able to mediate a temporary resolution. Both the male and female were advised of domestic violence laws and encouraged not to let situations become heated between them.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in the area of Liberty Boulevard and Park Avenue. Upon arrival police determined there weren’t any injuries as a result of the accident; police also determined that both vehicles were drivable from the scene. Police assisted the individuals with the exchange of information at the scene.
- On Tuesday, police received a report from East Second Avenue residents who alleged their neighbor’s surveillance cameras may be directed at their windows. The residents, police said, were concerned about possible invasion of privacy. Police made contact with the owner of the camera who permitted them to view its feed; upon review of camera angles, police suggested moving two cameras. The owner was apologetic and agreed to move the cameras immediately, police said.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Tuesday in the area of DuBois Avenue and DuBois Street. Upon arrival police determined there weren’t any injuries as a result of the accident; police also determined that both vehicles were drivable from the scene. Police assisted the individuals with the exchange of information at the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Tuesday at the City Park. Further, a man told police that his son and a friend were at the park when they were assaulted by an unknown 19-year-old man. Police noted there were conflicting reports and neither juvenile advised of any injury. Police said the incident will remain under investigation at this time.
- On Tuesday, police received a report about an alleged burglary at a Spring Avenue residence. While she was gone, the alleged victim told police that someone obtained her keys, entered her residence and moved her belongings around. Upon arrival police didn’t locate any intruders and were unable to determine if there was any unauthorized access. Police contacted family members to assist the alleged victim.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an incident in which a male allegedly destroyed property at a residence Tuesday in the 100 block of South Main Street. Upon arrival police learned that the caller’s daughter and her boyfriend had fled the residence. The caller, police said, advised the three of them had engaged in an argument over being evicted, at which point his daughter’s boyfriend started throwing items around and smashed a chair. The caller told police this made him worry about his safety. Later the caller’s daughter and her boyfriend were located by police and initially refused to cooperate. After determining the correct identification of the boyfriend, police found he had an outstanding bench warrant for unpaid fines and court costs from 2011. He was arrested and transported to the Clearfield County Jail to await extradition to Mifflin County.
- Over the past several weeks, police have received reports from residents who have been called by individuals who claim to be with the IRS. The caller, police said, claims the resident owes the IRS back taxes and late fees; the caller also attempts to obtain personal information. Police would like to remind residents that this is a scam and the federal government doesn’t attempt to solicit information by phone. Police also remind residents not to provide any personal information to callers who cannot validate their requests.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, a 46-year-old DuBois woman reported that she was afraid to return home because of her 43-year-old husband. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 19-year-old Brookville man reported that while his vehicle was parked Monday at the DuBois Mall, someone punctured three of the tires, cracked the windshield, removed a wiper and damaged the body. Police do not have any suspects at this time.
- A 54-year-old Houtzdale man swerved to miss a goose Tuesday on DuBois Rockton Road. This caused his vehicle to spin around, hit a utility pole guide wire and come to rest over an embankment against a tree. No injuries were reported, police said.
- On Tuesday, a 67-year-old Basse Terra Road, Treasure Lake man reported that an unknown male who was driving a black pick-up truck with a red insignia plate on the front bumper followed him into Treasure Lake. Police said when the man stopped at the Town Market the unknown man allegedly physically assaulted him. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- A Home Camp Road resident reported loud music in the area of the Home Camp Church on Tuesday. Police arrived in the area and could not hear any loud music.
