CLEARFIELD – In celebration of National Library Week from April 12 – 18, the Shaw Public Library is having an amnesty program through April 30.
The program is intended to encourage the return of library materials by users whose overdue fines are keeping them from coming back to the library.
A cardholder may return overdue materials with one non-perishable food donation per item and all fines on returned materials will be waived.
People can stop by Shaw Public Library from now until April 30 to take advantage of the amnesty program. All items collected will be donated to the Clearfield Ministerium Food Pantry.
The library story session classes are also participating in the food drive to help the local food bank to stock their shelves.
As part of the early learning programs offered at the library for preschoolers, story sessions offer the opportunity for children to learn about giving to others, helping their local community and sharing.
Anyone that would like to contribute to the food drive is welcome to drop off a donation to the library by April 30.
