Clearfield Rotarians Toni Zawisa and Cal Thomas recently attended training in State College for the 2015-16 club year, which begins in June.
The rotary is an international humanitarian service organization with 1.2 million members worldwide. Rotary clubs serve communities around the world, each of which has unique concerns and needs.
Many of the most successful and sustainable rotary service activities fall into one of the following areas: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy and or economic and community development.
The rotary’s top goal is to eradicate polio worldwide.  The rotary is also on the forefront of tackling major humanitarian issues around the world.  Besides international projects, local clubs benefit local communities.
Anyone interested in inquiring about becoming a member of Clearfield Rotary can visit a weekly lunch meeting on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. at The Arrowhead Restaurant or contact any Rotarian.
