One person was taken into police custody after hostages allegedly were taken at a fire station in a Philadelphia suburb on Tuesday, authorities said.
Everyone who had been taken hostage at the fire station in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, was safe after the suspect was taken into custody, an officer with the Cheltenham Township Police Department said.
Police were called to the station at 10:39 a.m. ET on a report that an armed person had taken hostages at the location, a few miles north of central Philadelphia, CNN affiliate WPVI reported.
