CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is currently accepting registrations for the Spring Jamboree story sessions.
Preschool aged children will experience a celebration of spring while enjoying stories, games, crafts and activities.  Spring Jamboree features a lineup of guest readers, presenters, special visitors and the annual PA One Book program.
Children ages 3-5 years will meet April 6, April 14 and April 21 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. or from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. for a series of special event programs.  The session begins April 6 with Miss Erin Returns.
Former Shaw Public Library youth services coordinator, Erin Wills, will visit as the opening session guest reader.  To welcome Miss Erin on her visit, children are asked to wear Erin’s favorite color, green.
On April 14, the annual Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child celebration will be held. The program is sponsored by the Clearfield Kiwanis organization.
Each participating family will receive a copy of the book Number One Sam by Greg Pizzoli.  Light refreshments will be provided.  Registration is limited for this program.
Special Guest Speaker, Carey Huber from Parker Dam State Park, will present a program based on the 3R’s; reduce, reuse and recycle, for the celebration of Earth Day on April 21.
During the program, children and caregivers will learn about keeping the environment healthy, tips for using the 3R’s at home, and ways to make a difference in their community.
The final program for this age category will held at 10:30 a.m. during the last week of April.  Class times for 2-3 years of age are April 27 or April 29. The program for children 4-5 years of age will be on April 28.
Renee Johnstonbaugh from AmeriHealth Caritas will educate preschoolers sharing the importance of a healthy heart, physical activity and healthy food choices.
Families must register for each special event individually and may choose which session time works best for their schedule.  A calendar with dates and times for each presenter and the featured topic for each event will be available for all registered families.
