Nina A. Demchak, 94, of Philipsburg and formerly of Sandy Ridge, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Dec. 17, 1920 in Sandy Ridge, she was the daughter of the late David and Caroline (Barry) Spitler.
She was married to Andrew “Jumbo” Demchak, whom preceded her in death on June 4, 1985.
Mrs. Demchak was a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Norman Demchak; four sisters, Evelyn Beck, Martha Carson, Pearl Dixon and Helen Spitler; and four brothers, William Spitler, John L. Spitler, David Spitler and Norman Spitler.
Mrs. Demchak is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Meredith of Tyrone, Judith Meek and her husband, Robert of Sandy Ridge and Marcia Myers and her husband, George of Philipsburg; a son, Dennis Demchak of Clearfield; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills with Pastor Mark Thumma officiating. Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday and from 1:30 p.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
