Caroline A. Freeman, 86, of Curwensville died Monday, March 16, 2015 at her residence after a lengthy illness. Born Jan. 6, 1929, she was the daughter of John and Ethel (Sutika) Lash.
Mrs. Freeman had been employed at various times by MacGregor Sportswear, Kurtz Bros. and ClearDon Manufacturing.
She was a member of the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville. She was a former member of the Curwensville VFW Ladies Auxiliary
She had wed Benjamin B. Freeman, whom preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Michael, John, Joseph, George and Peter Lash; an infant brother; and five sisters, Mary Olosky, Helen Potkalesky, Anna Padisak, Katherine Poklar and Agnes Boozer.
Surviving are two children, Susan Steis and her husband, Richard of North Myrtle Beach, SC and Ben J. Freeman of New Oxford and Curwensville. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Gene McGee, Joe McGee and Melissa Randle and a brother, Andrew Lash and his wife, Joanne of Curwensville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church in Curwensville with the Rev. Father Mark J. Mastrian as celebrant. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park in Hyde.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville.
A Scripture Vigil Service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests contributions be made to either The Clearfield County SPCA, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the St. Timothy Roman Catholic Church, 306 Walnut St., Curwensville, PAÂ 16833.
