At least four people were injured in shootings Wednesday at several locations in Mesa, Arizona, including at a motel across the street from a school, a Mesa Police Department spokesman said Wednesday.
Police are looking for the shooter, said the spokesman, Det. Esteban Flores.
Flores said he didn’t have information on the conditions of the injured.
Two people were shot at the Tri-City Inn, across the street from the East Valley Institute of Technology, Flores said. A man who is an EVIT student also was shot, Flores said. It wasn’t clear where that shooting happened.
The EVIT is a facility that hosts vocational and other classes for high school students from 10 school districts, as well as adult education programs, according to the school’s website.
The school said on Twitter that parents of those affected have been notified of an “incident on EVIT Main Campus.”
News of the shootings caught the attention of the state’s senior U.S. senator.
“My thoughts and prayers are with the people of #Mesa right now #Arizona,” U.S. Sen. John McCain said on Twitter Wednesday.
