State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Thursday on State Park Road in Huston Township. James A. Bloom of Curwensville was traveling north over an ice-covered portion of roadway, which caused him to lose control of his commercial vehicle and cross over the southbound lane and shoulder. His vehicle subsequently impacted a utility pole and an embankment before coming to its final resting position, facing north against the embankment. Upon impact with the utility pole, it sheered and its lines were on the Bloom vehicle; Bloom remained inside the vehicle until Penelec officials responded to the scene and advised there wasn’t any power in the lines. Due to the time of day and conditions, the roadway was closed and the vehicle remained at its final resting position until PennDOT personnel could treat the affected roadway and additional Penelec personnel could be summoned to work at the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, state police said.
