Stephen Merle Keiser, 67, of Curwensville died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born July 7, 1947 in Bryn Mawr, a son Betty Lou (Weber) Keiser of Curwensville and the late Clarence Keiser Jr.
He graduated from the Curwensville High School in 1965. He proceeded to graduate from college in California, where he earned his teaching credentials.
He then taught school for many years in California, including at the Hook Junior High in Victorville, Calif. During his teaching career, he assisted in coaching wrestling and golf. He was always helping at-risk adolescents.  Throughout his teaching career, he made many positive impacts on people’s lives.
While living in California, he also worked many years in the roofing business. He enjoyed the outdoors. He also had a special love for animals.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Above all else, he ‘marched to the beat of his own drum and lived life exactly the way he wanted.’
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sister, Jill Deluccia and her husband, Tim of Grampian; his brother, Jeffrey Keiser of Grampian; three aunts; numerous cousins; and many close friends in California. He will also be sadly missed by his dog, Josie.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lory Ann Stone.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville. Burial will be in the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Grampian.
Military honors will be accorded at funeral home by the members of the Clearfield VFW and American Legion Honor Guards.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
