Bessie I. Funari, 80, of Frenchville died Friday, March 6, 2015 at her home.
She was born Oct. 18, 1934 in Goshen, a daughter of the late Blair and Mary (Maines) Shirey.
Mrs. Funari retired in 2000 as the manager at the Best Western Hotel, Clearfield, where she had been employed for almost 25 years.
She was a member of Dales United Methodist Church, Woodland.
She is survived by three children, Marjorie Wallace and her husband, Dave of Frenchville, Edward Duke and his wife, Terri of Womelsdorf and Eileen Curry and her husband, Gary of Spring Valley.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a sister, Erma Voss of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nazzareno Funari, on Dec. 14, 1998 and whom she wed Nov. 4, 1970.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Irene Duke; two grandchildren; one sister, Twila English; and two brothers, Robert and Richard Shirey.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with Thomas Lenker officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Cemetery, Woodland.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Cancer Society, 26 S. Second St., Clearfield.
