CLEARFIELD – On Feb. 27, the Clearfield Area Elementary School held its first Mini-THON to raise money for The Four Diamonds Fund.
The Four Diamonds’ mission is, “To conquer childhood cancer by assisting children treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and their families through superior care, comprehensive support, and innovative research.”
Students in fourth through sixth grades at CAE raised money through different fundraising events this year and received donations from several local businesses for the fund.
Student efforts culminated in a two-hour, no-sitting dance to support pediatric cancer patients at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.
The Clearfield Bison cheerleaders cheered on students, as they revealed their total of raising $3,304.77 for The Four Diamonds Fund.
The CAE Mini-THON Committee plans on making this an annual event for the dual purpose of raising money for pediatric cancer, as well as teaching students how they can make a difference in their community.
