State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Sunday on Dorsey Avenue in Irvona Borough. Further, Shawn R. Brink of Glen Hope lost control of his vehicle, crossed the centerline and impacted another vehicle operated by Brandon A. Pier of Blandburg. Upon impact both vehicles sustained disabling damage; all occupants were transported from the scene to Altoona for evaluation and treatment. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident. Brink was cited as a result of the accident investigation, state police said. State police were assisted at the scene by Madera Emergency Medical Services and the Irvona Fire Department.
- An accident occurred Monday on the Philipsburg-Bigler Highway in Boggs Township. Further, Gloria A. Nichols of Wallaceton lost control of her vehicle, crossed the centerline and impacted a vehicle operated by Edward E. Yarger of Philipsburg. Upon impact the Nichols vehicle sustained disabling damage to its front; the Yarger vehicle sustained disabling damage to its left front. All occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and no injuries were reported. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Nichols was cited as a result of the accident investigation, state police said.
- An accident occurred Wednesday on Interstate 80 at mile-marker 130 westbound in Cooper Township. Further, three tractor-trailers were traveling on I-80 when one jack-knifed and caused a chain-reaction accident. Only one operator sustained injuries, which were minor in nature, state police said, noting weather conditions played a factor in the accident. I-80 westbound was closed from 12:17 a.m. until 8:14 a.m. due to the accident; PennDOT and towing services assisted at the scene.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Feb. 1 and Wednesday on the Philipsburg-Bigler Highway in Boggs Township. During the incident, the victim told state police that someone poured cement down their oil tank fill tube over the past month. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a 911 hang-up call at a local business.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident off of the roadway along the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway. Police checked the area but didn’t locate the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a vehicle stuck on Martin Street Extension. Police checked the area but the vehicle was gone upon arrival.
- Police received a report about alleged drug activity in the Hyde area.
- Clearfield Borough police were assisted with a person having a psychological emergency.
Sandy Township
- Police responded to a domestic dispute Monday at a Forest Avenue residence. Further, it occurred between a 44-year-old man and his 18-year-old step-daughter. Upon arrival police found a verbal argument had occurred between the girl and her 14-year-old sister that the father decided to intervene on. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 17-year-old DuBois boy reported that while his vehicle was parked Monday at the DuBois Mall, someone had put food all over it and drew on the windshield.
- On Tuesday, a Flowing Well Road woman reported that her 8-month-old brown pit bull ran away.
- A 63-year-old Blue Jay Drive woman reported receiving a phone call from a man stating he was from the Marriot and she had won a free night’s stay. He then asked her if she was over 30 years old and put her on hold. Then, the call was disconnected. Police have determined it was a scam call.
- Treasure Lake Security reported a vehicle became stuck in a snow bank Tuesday on Coral Reef Road. Police assisted in getting the vehicle out and it was driven from the scene.
- A 30-year-old Reynoldsville man lost control of his vehicle while traveling Tuesday on Behringer Highway and slid into the parking lot of Royer’s Auto. His vehicle then hit two parked vehicles, causing a chain reaction. A total of four parked vehicles were damaged. No injuries were reported, police said.
- A Greenwood Road resident reported a known 54-year-old Luthersburg man put snow in her mailbox and damaged the post. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
