Rose M. Finocchio, 89, of Tyrone and formerly of Osceola Mills and Philipsburg died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Colonial Courtyard in Tyrone.
Born Jan. 31, 1926 in Tamaqua, she was the daughter of the late Pompilio and Mary (Locasale) Tufo. She married Nathan F. Finocchio on June 23, 1951 in Tamaqua; he preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2008.
Mrs. Finocchio was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg.
She and her late husband, Nathan F. Finocchio, were the former owners and operators of the Osceola Mills Hotel. She was a 1944 graduate of the Tamaqua High School.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Yolanda Wallace, Mary Coggiano and Shirley Reinhart and one brother, Robert Tufo.
Mrs. Finocchio is survived by two daughters, Teresa Lindley and her husband, Ernest of Port Matilda and Denise Haun of State College; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Osceola Mills, with the Rev. Father Robert J. Horgas officiating. Burial will be at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Philipsburg.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
