Former President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama have many differences, but they both appear to agree on at least one thing: America is not at war with Islam.
On Wednesday, Obama spoke at a White House summit on violent extremism. He said, “We are not at war with Islam. We are at war with people who have perverted Islam.”

Similarly, only weeks after the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, Bush said, “Americans understand we fight not a religion. Ours is not a campaign against the Muslim faith. Ours is a campaign against evil.” His remarks came during an appearance at Chicago’s O’Hare airport where he discussed airline safety measures.
