Madeline E. (Blake) Holt, 87, of Clearfield died Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at Penn Highlands Clearfield.
She was born March 4, 1927, the daughter of Charles Alexander and Verna (English) Blake.
Ms. Holt retired after 20-plus years of service at the G.C. Murphy store as a clerk.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Ms. Holt was a member of the Second Ward Auxiliary. She had volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center.
Her hobbies included crochet, puzzles and loving her grandchildren.
She is survived by three children, Patricia Bloom of Clearfield, Timothy A. Holt and his wife, Marsha of West Decatur and Gary G. Holt and his wife, Sandy of Curwensville.
She is survived by four grandchildren, Jim Bloom and his wife, Reane, Mike Bloom and his wife, Amy, Tim Holt and his wife, Rhonda and Melissa Cochran and nine great-grandchildren, Caleb, Noah, Josh, Hannah, Ryan, Emily, Sydney, Gabby and Crosby.
She was the last member of her generation.
Ms. Holt was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne L. Holt, whom died Aug. 4, 1984; two sisters, Alma Lanich and Mabel Little; five brothers, Emerson, Ward, Frank, Charles and Bruce Blake; a granddaughter, Penny Bloom; a great-granddaughter, MacKenzie Holt; and a great-grandson, Dakota Thomas Cochran.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc. of Clearfield with the Rev. Penney Rahm officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. Friday until the hour of the services at the funeral home.
