State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Tuesday on Interstate 80 eastbound in Lawrence Township. Further, a Mack truck was traveling in the right-hand lane. Its operator underestimated how slow the vehicle was traveling ahead of him and he attempted to pass it quickly. This resulted in his trailer drifting away, which caused the unit to overturn to the driver’s side. It slid for approximately 25 feet over the eastbound fog line before colliding with the guiderail. His vehicle came to a rest on the guiderail and into the eastbound lane of travel. The operator wasn’t injured and refused medical treatment, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Feb. 12 on Black Moshannon Road in Rush Township. Richard C. Yingling Jr. of Philipsburg was traveling westbound and failed to negotiate a right-hand curve. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle, which started to rotate counterclockwise while crossing the centerline. The Yingling vehicle then crossed the oncoming lane and exited the roadway onto the south berm, where it impacted with a mailbox and snow bank. Upon impact it overturned onto its roof and come to a final rest facing south. Yingling exited his vehicle and left the scene without notifying the property owner or police of the accident.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged phone scam. Upon investigation police found the caller was claiming to be with the IRS and asking for information.
- Police received a report from Children & Youth Services. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of trespassing at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Charges are currently pending, police said.
- Police responded to a disabled tractor-trailer on Martin Street Extension.
- Police received a report about an alleged DUI in the Hillsdale area.
- Police received a report about a burglary/intrusion alarm at the Discovery House.
- Police received a report about an alarm at the Holiday Financial Office at the Clearfield Mall.
- Police received a report about a traffic incident at the Sapp Bros. Truck Stop.
- Police received a report about a traffic violation at Sapp Bros. while a tractor-trailer was illegally parked in a handicap parking space.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about an alarm Tuesday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Upon arrival police found an employee had activated the alarm.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident that occurred Tuesday in the 400 block of East DuBois Avenue. A vehicle operated by a Brookville woman rear-ended another operated by a DuBois man. The man was transported by ambulance to Penn Highlands DuBois due to pain; the woman wasn’t injured in the accident. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
Sandy Township
- A vehicle driven by a 36-year-old DuBois woman slid into a snow bank while approaching the intersection of Oklahoma Salem Road and Maple Avenue on Monday. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was driven from the scene, police said.
- On Tuesday, a 37-year-old DuBois man reported that his 23-year-old girlfriend sent him a text, saying she was going to hurt herself. Police went to the woman’s residence and handled the situation without incident.
- A woman reported seeing someone wearing an orange outfit and brown scarf lying in a snow bank near her home on Tuesday. The man was gone upon police arrival.
