Michelle Obama has been known to go all out for her Let’s Move! initiative, and her latest video for Funny or Die is no exception.
The First Lady was a contestant on a game called “Ariana Grande or Eating a Carrot,” hosted by Billy on the Street’s Billy Eichner (now a member of the Turner family) from a Washington Safeway grocery store.
Her fellow contestant was none other than Big Bird, participating as part of a campaign to include images of Sesame Street characters on fruit and vegetable packaging. “Billy on the Street” regular Elena also participated.
Obama looked vaguely uncomfortable as Eichner did his signature screaming schtick, but she was a good sport throughout the game.
When Eichner accidentally poked her, she joked, “It’s okay, but watch it. You could get shot.”
“Oh my God, this is so much fun! Fruits and vegetables, I could die at any moment,” Eichner said.
The sneaker-clad First Lady agreed with Eichman that Gene Hackman is a “great actor,” that Ariana Grande’s ponytail is “pretty nice,” that she liked the idea of an all-female Ghostbusters, and that the members of One Direction are “cute.”
The trio was rapid-fire quizzed on a variety of pop culture topics and vegetables, including Gwyneth Paltrow’s soup, Martin Short, and Ted Dansen on CSI.
In the “FLOTUS Bonus Round,” Obama slow danced with Big Bird in the middle of the produce section and named characters from 70’s sitcom “The Facts of Life.” She pushed Eichner in a cart while he read Paltrow’s “Shakespeare in Love” Oscar acceptance speech.
“This must be the highlight of your career, FLOTUS,” he said.
