CLEARFIELD – PennDOT has lifted the speed limit restriction that was in place on Interstate 80 and I-99 in the region.
Due to the winter storm that impacted the region, speed limits were reduced yesterday to 45 miles per hour on I-80 in Clearfield, Centre and Clinton counties and on I-99 in Centre County.
Speeds have now been restored to their usual posted limits on those roadways. Motorists are advised that they may encounter high cross winds along these roadways and that they should adjust their vehicle speed accordingly.
Motorists can check conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles, including color-coded winter conditions on 2,900 miles, by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 700 traffic cameras.
511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the 511PA Web site.
