CLEARFIELD – Officials at the Lock Haven University Clearfield campus would like to invite the public to events being held throughout the spring semester on campus.
As dates draw closer, more details will be announced for upcoming events. Upcoming events are free and open to the public.
QPR Suicide Prevention Training: Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) are three simple steps that anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. The QPR training is offered in cooperation with the Clearfield-Jefferson Suicide Prevention Team on Feb. 19 from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. in 003 Founders’ Hall.
Bats: Lunch and Learn: Dr. Barrie Overton, Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at Lock Haven University, will discuss the devastating impact that WNS has on the bat population and the effectiveness of strategies to control the invasive fungal infection. Join in the discussion on March 6 from 12:15 p.m. until 1: 15 p.m. in 214 Founders’ Hall.
Lunch-time Jazz Concert: Join Dr. Eddie Severn and LHU students as they perform jazz standards. The group will share pieces from artists, including Miles Davis, Freddie Hubbard, Herbie Hancock and Wayne Shorter. The concert will be held on March 23, beginning at 12:15 p.m. in 214 Founders’ Hall.
Focus on the Future-Managing Change: Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the importance of managing change, leading change in your organization, types of organizational change and overcoming resistance to change. This session will be held April 10 from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. in 214 Founders’ Hall.
Footloose-A Live Performance: A city teenager moves to a small town where rock music and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the community. Come watch the LHU University Players perform this classic on April 28, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Founders’ Hall.
Campus Beautification & Community Appreciation Day: This year’s annual event will include food, music, exhibits, recycling, health screenings and more. Join LHU Clearfield as they beautify campus and show their appreciation for the Clearfield community on May 20 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Founders’ Hall.
