DUBOIS – Sandy Township police found a home invasion didn’t occur after responding to a “weapons call” at 1:54 p.m. Wednesday at a Treasure Lake residence.
According to police, a 62-year-old Treasure Lake man reported a known man had entered his residence through the basement and was armed with a shotgun. He also reported that the man had his wife in the downstairs bathroom.
Upon arrival to the scene, police found that the area was cordoned off. Police, however, were able to make contact with the man and have him exit the residence through the front door.
Upon questioning the man, it became apparent he was confused, said police. Police added that family members were contacted and informed them that the man lives alone.
Police cleared the residence and determined there wasn’t any home invasion. The man was transported to Penn Highlands for an evaluation, police said.
DuBois City police and the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Department assisted with the incident.
