Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has scored the support of a top former communications staffer for Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign, CNN has learned.
Gail Gitcho, who served as Romney’s campaign communication director, will join the pro-Jindal super PAC “Believe Again.”
“Gail Gitcho is the single best communications professional working in Republican politics today, bar none,” said Brad Todd, a strategist for Believe Again, in a release announcing the hire obtained by CNN. “Her insight and guidance will be a great asset to our team.”
Gitcho, a partner in McKay-Gitcho Strategies, served as communications director for the Republican Governors Association following Romney’s loss.
“Gov. Jindal is the sharpest policy leader in the conservative movement today and I am excited to join the team at Believe Again,” Gitcho said in the release. “There’s no doubt in my mind he is the right person to be the next Republican president. I hope he runs.”
The announcement comes on the heels of Romney’s decision to sit out a third presidential campaign and as other potential candidates ramp up their hiring.
