How much do Americans love playing the lottery?
More than they love music, movies, books, video games and sports teams – combined.
At least that’s what the spending figures indicate.
Last year Americans spent a total of $70.15 billion on lottery tickets, according to the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries.
That tops the $62.7 billion spent on all of those different forms of leisure and entertainment, according to most recent sales figures.
