DUBOIS – Headwaters PA has announced that Northwest Savings Bank has partnered with Headwaters for #GivingTuesday, with a $4,000 donation.
#GivingTuesday, is a national effort designed to harness the collective power of a unique blend of partners—charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.
#GivingTuesday inspires people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they support. Headwaters asked several local businesses to join in the movement, and Northwest was the first to answer the call.
“Deeply rooted in the rural communities throughout northern Pennsylvania, Northwest is vested in the preservation of our local lands and natural resources. We’re extremely proud to support Headwaters’ efforts to conserve our environment and preserve the uniqueness of our communities and people,” said Vonda Reese, DuBois branch manager.
“Recreation, tourism and sustainable agriculture make good business sense,” said Janie French, executive director.
“Headwaters has been instrumental in establishing recreational trails from abandon rail corridors to restoring trout streams and improving farmland production through rotational grazing. This donation will help us build heathier communities while keeping our local economy thriving.”
Headwaters is a regional conservation non-profit that promotes quality of life and economic sustainability by restoring, protecting and enhancing natural resources in north central Pennsylvania.
Headwaters provides many services to the region, including grant writing, project management, technical assistance, financial partnerships, conferences and workshops, and much more related to agriculture, forestry, water quality, and community development in the heart of the Pennsylvania Wilds region.
