CLEARFIELD – Mountain Laurel Health and Rehabilitation, formerly the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, has switched its status from “for-profit” to “non-profit” as a result of a change in corporate management.
Its status change became effective Jan. 8. It has changed some of the administration department functions. However, patient care has not been affected, according to Julie Fenton, Nursing Home administrator.
“We are excited about the future as a non-profit,” said Fenton. “We are looking to be able to provide more options for our residents, to accept community input and donations and to invest in new programs for our staff.
“As a member of this community, I feel a responsibility to provide care and rehabilitation stronger than ever. We are excited about being able to work closely with other community non-profit agencies, like the Clearfield Area Agency on Aging and the area hospitals, to enhance the services that we already provide. This opens doors for us that we were unable to access before.”
The Mountain Laurel Health and Rehabilitation Center is a 240 bed facility in Clearfield that provides in-patient rehabilitation, long-term care and dementia care for the local community and surrounding areas.
