State police at Clearfield
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on the Mahaffey/Grampian Highway in Greenwood Township. During the incident, a Mahaffey man allegedly arrived to repossess the victim’s vehicle and became angry over the matter. He allegedly grabbed a snow shovel and struck the victim in the leg. The man was cited through the district court, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Tuesday on Wood Alley in Horton Township. During the incident, a 39-year-old Ridgway allegedly hit the victim’s Mercury Marquise with an all-terrain vehicle while it was parked in her driveway. Damage is estimated at $200. The man was cited through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted with a combative patient at a residence along South Second Street. It was noted by police that the patient voluntarily went with emergency personnel.
- Police responded to the Clearfield County Probation Office to assist with a 302 patient. It was noted by police that the patient voluntarily went to the hospital for an evaluation.
- Police received a report about a phone scam where the caller claims to be with the IRS. Police would like to remind all citizens not to give personal information out over the phone.
- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident along North Second Street in front of the Clearfield YMCA. Further, a blue Ford F-150 was seen fleeing the scene. Anyone with information is asked to call the Clearfield Borough police.
- While on patrol, police located a disabled vehicle along West Front Street. Further, police were able to assist the motorist with calling for towing services.
- Police were able to serve warrants on two males who were located by the Lawrence Township police. Both males were housed in the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident along North Second Street in front of the Clearfield YMCA. Further, a white work van was seen fleeing the scene. Also, a separate witness called police later and was able to provide a registration.
- Police received a report about a landlord/tenant issue. The complainant was directed to the appropriate agency, police said.
- Police received a report about a civil matter regarding custody of a rental car. The complainant was directed to the appropriate agency, police said.
- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident by a known suspect along Capricorn Drive. The victim declined to press charges, police said.
- While on patrol during the night, police located an open door on a vehicle along Daisy Street. Police were able to make contact with the vehicle owner who stated that nothing appeared to be missing.
Lawrence Township
- On Tuesday, police along with state police at Rockview and K-9 Tom conducted a joint traffic detail throughout the township. Police conducted 15 traffic stops, which resulted in: two drivers being found operating their vehicles with a suspended license and three persons with outstanding warrants for their arrest. It was noted by police that one stop involved a search with the K-9. Police will conduct more details throughout the month of March.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Both parties exchanged information at the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident along Daisy Street Extension. Both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about an accidental alarm on the Glen Richey Highway.
- Police received a report about a possible traffic hazard on River Road.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic disturbance in Kerr Addition. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
- Police conducted a traffic stop and determined the motorist had an outstanding warrant through the Clearfield Borough police. Clearfield police were contacted and made contact with the motorist.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard on Route 879. Further, a semi-truck was blocking the turning lane to the Industrial Park. Police made contact with the operator who moved the truck.
- Police received a report about an alarm at a local business. Upon arrival police found it was activated by cleaning personnel.
- Police received a report about an alarm on River Road.
Sandy Township
- On Monday, a vehicle driven by a 48-year-old Treasure Lake woman was hit by a snow plow while both were traveling on Captain Kidd Road in Treasure Lake. No injuries were reported, and the woman’s vehicle was disabled, police said.
- A 51-year-old Grampian man reported that while his vehicle was parked Monday at Wal-Mart, someone took the license plate from it. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- On Monday, a 78-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported that she received a phone call from someone with PA Legal Services in California. The caller stated that she outstanding bills in the amount of $1,200, which needed to be paid. They gave her a phone number to verify the bills, which she called and she was told she would receive an e-mail with details on how to pay. She believed it was a scam, and police warned her to be careful about opening any unfamiliar e-mails.
- On Monday, police responded to a McLane Avenue residence for an alleged domestic disturbance between a 43-year-old man and his 68-year-old father. The son was gone from the residence upon police arrival; the situation was handled without incident, police said.
- On Tuesday, the staff at Pyramid Health Care at the Highland Street School reported an 18-year-old student who was allegedly causing a disturbance in the cafeteria. Upon police arrival, the student had calmed down and apologized to staff. The situation was handled without incident, police said.
- A 49-year-old DuBois man reported that while driving on Route 255 on Tuesday, a white box truck passed him going in the other direction. Further, a large piece of ice fell off of it, causing moderate damage to his vehicle. No injuries were reported, police said.
- A vehicle being driven by a 20-year-old Reynoldsville woman hit a bank of snow on Wayne Road on Tuesday, causing it to overturn and come to rest on its side. The operator was taken to Penn Highlands for an evaluation, police said.
