According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 5, 2014, police received a report about an alleged theft and a forged check. Upon investigation it was found that Coleman had unlawfully removed a check, U.S. currency, and various pieces of jewelry from the victim’s apartment.
It was found that Coleman had forged the victim’s signature on the check and cashed it. Additionally, it was determined that Coleman had sold the victim’s jewelry in exchange for U.S. currency.
