Fourteen protesters have been killed in demonstrations marking the fourth anniversary of Egypt’s revolution, the country’s Ministry of Health said Sunday.
Among them was Shaimaa El-Sabagh, whose killing was captured on video.
She was part of a small group that marched toward Tahrir Square in Cairo on Saturday, a day before the anniversary of the January 25 revolution.
As the group repeated the chants that echoed through the iconic square four years ago, police charged, firing tear gas.
El-Sabagh’s colleagues at the Socialist Popular Alliance Party say the police also fired shots and killed her.
Police deny using anything but tear gas.
