Two U.S. Marines died on a training mission in Southern California when their helicopter crashed, a military statement said.
The aircraft crashed Friday afternoon at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California, about 130 miles east of Los Angeles.
“Our hearts go out to the families and friends of the two Marines we lost in this tragic accident,” Maj. Gen. Michael Rocco said Friday.
The names of the Marines will be released after the next of kin are notified.
