John H. “Hock” Pritchard, 75, of Philipsburg died Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 at Hearthside Rehabilitation Center, State College.
Born Sept. 21, 1939 in Wilkes Barre, he was a son of the late Harold “Bill” Pritchard and Isabelle (Hockenberry) Showers.
He attended the Trinity United Methodist Church, Philipsburg. He was a heavy equipment operator and a licensed blaster. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Pritchard was a member of the National Rifle Association. He had a love for dogs and enjoyed spending time with his family.
On Feb. 27, 1965 in Philipsburg, he married Kay C. (Shimmel) Pritchard, who survives at home.
Surviving are a son, Terry F. Pritchard and his wife, Sherry of Munson and two daughters, Bonnie McNelis and her husband, Jonathan of Philipsburg and Mary Beth Pritchard of Anderson, Ind.
Surviving are a brother, Francis “Slug” Showers of Osceola Mills and three sisters, Evelyn Bryant and her husband, Bob of Allport, Inez Trump of Osceola Mills and Lois Patrick of Houtzdale.
Also surviving are five grandchildren, Terry Pritchard Jr., Pete Pritchard and his wife, Melissa, Kricket Hilliard and her husband, Lyden, Matthew Rockey and Kyle Witmer; a grand-dog, “Grizzly Bear;” and three great-grandchildren, Daniel Pritchard, Jonathan Pritchard and Zayden Hilliard.
Mr. Pritchard was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, Erman and Annie Hockenberry; his loving dog, “Jake;” and a grand-dog, “Buck.”
Private services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Brenda K. Leigey officiating.
