Sherry A. Bowman, 48, of West Decatur died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at her residence.
Born Aug. 31, 1966 in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Theodore F. Sr. and Geraldine E. (Droll) Perks.
She married Mark Bowman on Aug. 20, 1988 at the Free Methodist Church, (Gearhartville) RD Philipsburg; he survives at home.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg.
She had been formerly employed with several Philipsburg area businesses, including, Charles Navasky & Co., Sarina’s and the former Bob Showers Windows & Sunrooms Inc. She was most recently employed as a sales representative with Solar Shield in Altoona.
She was a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. She received her Associate’s degree in secretarial management from the South Hills School of Business & Technology.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betsy Picard and her father-in-law, Theodore Bowman.
Mrs. Bowman is survived by two sisters, Deborah D. Perks of Philipsburg and Tammy Moriarity and her husband, Timothy of Morrisdale and three brothers, Larry R. Perks and his companion, Cindy Greenawalt of West Decatur, Dennis R. Perks and his wife, Germaine of Steelton and Theodore F. “Ted” Perks Jr. and his wife, Deborah of Allport.
She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Mary Jane Perks of Philipsburg; and her mother-in-law, Catherine Ruth (Bateman) Bowman of Curwensville.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. the Paul’s Episcopal Church in Philipsburg with the Rev. William R. Walker officiating. Burial will be at Beaver Valley Cemetery in Flinton.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg.
