Robert N. Jones, 82, of Philipsburg died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at his home.
Born Aug. 19, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Hughes) Jones.
He married Besse (Penepacker) Jones on April 1, 1955 in Winchester, Va. She preceded him in death on Jan. 11, 1998.
Mr. Jones was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Philipsburg, where he held numerous positions within the church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired as a salesman for the Your Building Center in Philipsburg. He was a 1950 graduate of the former Philipsburg High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Robert C. Jones and a brother, Paul B. Jones.
Mr. Jones is survived by three daughters, Sheree Vaux and her husband, Ronald, Shelley Chintella and her husband Kenneth and Elayne Jones, all of Philipsburg.
He is also survived by a sister, Beverly Steinsiek of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Erin Vaux, Amanda Vaux, Kellie Vaux, Kendra Chintella, Tyler Chintella, Kristen Skaugen and Jessica Jones; five step-grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 at the First Presbyterian Church in Philipsburg with the Rev. Dr. Katie Hopper officiating. Burial will be at the Philipsburg Cemetery.
The Heath Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Osceola Mills is in charge of the arrangements.
