M. Jean Tibbens, 84, of Hyde died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
She was born March 31, 1930 in Mineral Springs, the daughter of Claye and Myrtle (Teats) Knepp. She was Protestant by faith.
She had been employed by Clearfield Kurtz Bros. for 33 years. She retired in 1992 from Minuteman Press in Florida.
She is survived by two sisters, Betty Cochrane and Carole Brown and her companion, Chuck Carter, all of Curwensville;Â two brothers, Richard Knepp and his wife, Norma of Erie and Jack Knepp of Hyde;Â and two step-children, Larry Tibbens of Portersville and Debra Dixon of Clearfield.
She is also survived by two step-grandchildren, Sean Raymond and his wife, Debra of Beaver Falls and Joey Dixon of Cranberry; four step-great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Lauren Tibbens and Dylan and Dayana Raymond; six nieces, Debra Jury, Betsy Brown, Brenda McDonald, Bonne Buck, Cindy Shatto and Suzanne Jacobson; and three nephews, Melvin Knepp, David Cochrane and Edward Cochrane.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Lester Spontarelli; and her second husband, Harry C. Tibbens, whom died June 5, 1993.
Honoring Mrs. Tibbens wishes, private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield County Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield, PA 16830 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
