CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Jan. 19.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Chase Garrett Abbot, 21, of North Front Street, Clearfield. Abbot is wanted for failure to appear at Revocation Court on Jan. 5.
On Sept. 29, 2014, Sergeant Greg Neeper of the Clearfield Borough Police Department filed a criminal complaint against Abbot. He charged Abbot with retail theft.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Sept. 26, 2014, police were dispatched to an alleged retail theft at CVS Pharmacy in Clearfield Borough. Upon investigation it was found that Abbot and a juvenile female had been in the store, concealed items in a red backpack and then left without paying.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 8, 2014, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 5, Abbot failed to appear for Revocation Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Abbot is described a Caucasian male standing 6 feet, 6 inches tall. He has brown hair and eyes.
