State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Monday on the Greenville Pike in Pike Township. Lance M. Hess of Curwensville was traveling north while Haskell K. Welch of Grampian was traveling south. Hess lost control of his vehicle, which crossed into the southbound lane and impacted the Welch vehicle.
- On Tuesday, a female wallet and some other items were found at the McDonald’s in Lawrence Township. To claim the wallet and items, please contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on Walnut Street in Osceola Mills Borough. During the incident, a known Philipsburg juvenile allegedly verbally threatened the victim by saying she’d rip her hair out of her head via a Facebook message. The incident remains under investigation at this time.
- An accident occurred Tuesday along Route 53 at its entrance with Crystal Clean Auto Spa in Decatur Township. Lisa M. Wise of Philipsburg was traveling north when she stopped to wait for southbound traffic to clear to make a left-hand turn. When she made the turn, she failed to observe a vehicle operated by Edward L. McGuire of Morrisdale traveling south. McGuire was able to avoid impact with the Wise vehicle; however, it impacted a vehicle operated by Coulton Casteel of Clearfield, who was waiting to pull out of the auto spa. No injuries were reported, state police said.
- An accident occurred Tuesday on Barrett Road in Bradford Township. Cathy A. Knepp of Philipsburg was traveling west in the right-hand lane. Her vehicle exited via the west shoulder and continued to travel for approximately 212 feet along an embankment. Her vehicle struck a ditch and overturned before coming to a rest on its passenger’s side. Knepp wasn’t wearing her seatbelt and was ejected halfway out of the passenger’s side window with the vehicle lying on top of her. She was trapped between the vehicle and the ground. Emergency personnel responded and used the Jaws of Life cutting tool to remove the roof in order to get to Knepp. Knepp was removed safely from the vehicle, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred Tuesday on Walnut Street in Coalport Borough. During the incident, two women allegedly engaged in a physical altercation; both were charged for the incident, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Monday on Coal Hill Road in Brady Township. Debra L. Sykes of Curwensville was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed. She was wearing her seatbelt and not injured, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- An attempted burglary occurred Jan. 5 at Mountain View Farm & Landscape in Union Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to enter the store and caused damage to the door and its frame when trying to force it open. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- An incident of theft occurred Saturday at Lykens Market in Port Matilda Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly pumped $30 worth of gas and failed to pay for it.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on East Cherry Street. Upon arrival police searched the area but made negative contact.
- Police received a report about a possible transformer fire on Spruce Street. Upon arrival police searched the area but did not locate anything and lights appeared to be functioning properly.
- Police received a report from a resident who advised that someone may have gained access to his apartment and moved items around.
- Police received a report about a parking violation that occurred along Merrill Street.
- Police served a warrant on a female for violating a protection from abuse order.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Sunday at a Hyde business.
- Police received a report about an alleged credit card theft.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of individuals walking along River Road.
Sandy Township
- A 25-year-old Clearfield woman lost control of her vehicle Monday in the area of Home Camp and Rockton roads, causing it to slide into a ditch. The vehicle was towed from the ditch and driven from the scene. No injuries were reported, police said.
- On Monday, a 24-year-old Circle Road woman called police when her son’s grandmother came to pick him up for visitation, which she did not want him to go on. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 34-year-old Treasure Lake woman lost control of her vehicle while traveling Monday on Clear Run Road, causing it to end up on its roof. Because the driver and her 14-month-old son were properly restrained, no injuries were reported, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute between a 21-year-old man and his 43-year-old mother Monday at Homewood Suites. They had been displaced after a fire and were staying at the hotel. Further, they allegedly engaged in an argument over the man’s 9-year-old sister. The man made arrangements to leave the hotel and police handled the situation without incident.
- A 41-year-old DuBois man reported that while his vehicle was parked at Lowe’s on Monday, it was hit by an unknown vehicle. This, he said, caused damage to the right bumper.
- A 20-year-old East Freedom man was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting an ATA bus that was stopped at the railroad tracks Tuesday on Slab Run Road. The man’s windows were frosted over, preventing him from seeing traffic in front of him. Minor injuries to a passenger on the bus were reported, police said.
- A Sheffield woman reported losing a money bag in the area of Joanne Fabrics on Tuesday.
- On Tuesday, a Housing Authority employee reported that a neighbor had been riding an all-terrain vehicle on their property, causing damage to the landscaping.
- On Tuesday, a Wayne Road man reported that an unknown person was on his front porch attempting to gain entry to his house. The suspect was gone prior to police arrival. Police checked the area and could not locate the suspect.
