John L. Millinder, 89, of Wallaceton died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at Windy Hill Village.
Mr. Millinder was born Nov. 8, 1925 in Wallaceton, the son of Earl and Dorothy (Hull) Millinder. He worked for Bradford Coal Company for 20 years.
Mr. Millinder attended the Church of God in Wallaceton. He was also a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club. He was an avid wood worker.
He is survived by four daughters, Ginger L. Lumadue and Suzanne Caram and her husband, Larry, both of Wallaceton, Bette Jean Dixon of Bigler and Cindy Hryn and her husband, John of Grampian and a son, John L. Millinder Jr. and his wife, Ellen of Wallaceton.
He is survived by one brother, Edward O. Millinder and his wife, Nancy of West Decatur; two sisters, Janet L. Wallace and her husband, Walter and Bettie I. Knepp and her husband, Charles, both of Wallaceton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Millinder was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Elizabeth Millinder; three brothers, Maynard, Oliver and Robert “Tuffy” Millinder; and a son-in-law, Burton Lumadue.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, with Pastor Mark Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Reidy Cemetery, Wallaceton.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
