State police at Clearfield
- On Friday, state police received a report about an unknown individual who was allegedly discharging a firearm at night in the general direction of a dog on Mine Road in Cooper Township. State police noted that it’s believed the firearm used was a 22 long rifle; the dog wasn’t injured as a result of the incident. - An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday on the Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township. During the incident, someone allegedly traveled by a residence and propelled an unknown object out of their window, which struck the victim’s vehicle. - A hit-and-run accident occurred Saturday on Winburne-Munson Road in Cooper Township. Further, the operator of a Chevrolet Blazer was traveling when he fell asleep; his vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane and crossed over the fog line. His vehicle subsequently collided with a road sign that was posted approximately 10 feet off of the east berm; it continued in the same direction and collided with the front porch of a residence. The operator merged back onto the Winburne-Munson Road and continued south for approximately one-half mile before pulling over along the west berm. No injuries were reported, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday on Mutton Hollow Road in Bradford Township. During the incident, someone allegedly drove their vehicle over the victim’s mailbox and then fled the scene. - An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on Route 53 in Morris Township. During the incident, an 18-year-old Morrisdale man was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Charges will be filed through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred Saturday on Honeysuckle Road in Bradford Township. During the incident, two Morrisdale residents allegedly engaged in a physical altercation with each other. State police determined that both were at fault, and charges were filed through the district court.
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Saturday on the Curwensville – Tyrone Highway in Knox Township. Further, a female who operated a black Volkswagen Jetta or Passat was traveling south and approaching a right-hand curve in the roadway. She failed to negotiate the curve, crossed the northbound lane and exited the roadway. Her vehicle then traveled south about 20 feet and impacted a metal burn barrel; it continued south for around 40 feet and impacted a smaller tree. The female’s vehicle continued south another 50 feet before coming to a final rest, at which point she exited her vehicle and refused to exhibit her identification to the property owner. She proceeded to re-enter her vehicle, to turn around and to flee west and while driving in the property owner’s yard, she impacted a metal clothesline pole to gain access to the Curwensville – Tyrone Highway toward Madera. - On Dec. 22, the victim arrived at Irwin Park in Curwensville Borough for visitation with her child. However, a 44-year-old Curwensville man allegedly refused to follow a court order, which allowed the victim visitation.
State police at DuBois
- On Sunday, a 19-year-old DuBois man was stopped for a traffic violation on the Rich Highway in Sandy Township. Upon investigation state police detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the man’s vehicle; a search turned up drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana. The man was arrested for DUI and summary charges, which are currently pending blood test results, state police said.
- Three juveniles were cited for an alleged incident of underage drinking that occurred Saturday in DuBois City and Sandy Township.
- An incident of harassment occurred Thursday on Wishaw Road in Winslow Township. During the incident, a 38-year-old Reynoldsville man and the victim allegedly engaged in an altercation, which escalated to him physically throwing her out of the residence. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said, noting the appropriate charges will be filed through the district court.
- An incident of harassment occurred on Blue Jay Drive on Wednesday in Union Township. During the incident, two Penfield residents allegedly engaged in a verbal argument that escalated into a physical dispute with the victim.
- An accident occurred Sunday on Interstate 80 eastbound at mile-marker 99.6 in Sandy Township. Gregory A. Gallup of DuBois was traveling in the left-hand lane when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into another vehicle and then the north guiderail.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Friday on Ridge Road in Fox Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the victim’s property. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Ridgway at 814-776-6136.
- An accident occurred Friday on Laurel Mill Road at its intersection with Fairview Hill Road in Ridgway Township. Further, a 20-year-old Ridgway woman was traveling westbound when her vehicle approached a sharp, left-hand curve. For unknown reasons, her vehicle continued straight ahead and impacted a dirt embankment along the north berm. Upon impact her vehicle overturned several times before coming to a rest in a yard to the north of Laurel Mill Road. The accident remains under investigation pending the woman’s blood test results, state police said.
- An accident occurred Sunday on Fairview Road in Fox Township. Jennifer L. Marche of Kersey was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle, which crossed into the northbound lane. Her vehicle then exited the roadway, impacted an embankment along the north berm, crossed over a driveway and impacted another embankment, which caused it to go airborne. The Marche vehicle traveled approximately 72 feet in the air before impacting the ground and striking a man hole cover; it continued traveling approximately 84 feet to its final resting point. Marche was charged with several vehicle code violations through the district court.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was struck while it was unattended on Bigler Avenue. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a minor accident along West Front Street. The persons involved exchanged information prior to police arrival.
- Police stopped two persons who were seen walking in a “no trespassing” area. They were warned of their actions.
- Police responded to a vehicle lockout along Milford Street.
- Police received a report about firearms missing from a residence. Upon arrival police learned that a family member had secured the firearms and failed to tell the owner.
- Police received a report about someone who had allegedly used the victim’s identity during police contact in Centre County.
- Police assisted the Sheriff’s Office in arresting a male who was wanted on several outstanding warrants.
- Police assisted with a disabled motorist along West Front Street.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance on Turnpike Avenue. As a result, one male was arrested and transported to the Clearfield County Jail.
- Police received a noise complaint along East Locust Street.
- Police responded to an activated alarm along Nichols Street.
- Police handled a loud music complaint along South Fifth Street.
- Police received a report about suspicious activity along Clearfield Street. Upon arrival police searched the area and were unable to locate anyone.
- Police received a report about a female who was yelling for help on Clearfield Street. Upon arrival police searched the area but couldn’t locate anyone in need of assistance.
- Police received a report about a burglary alarm on Nichols Street. Upon arrival police and the owner searched the business and determined everything was OK.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged incident of harassment that occurred on West Front Street. Further, a 12-year-old child was allegedly physically assaulted by a known adult.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged theft from a vehicle that was parked in the 200 block of South Second Street. Further, someone allegedly entered the vehicle and removed a change purse.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged incident of harassment that occurred at the St. Charles Cafe. Further, a 21-year-old Grampian woman stated she was pushed and elbowed in the face while at the establishment.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Turnpike Avenue. Further, police found the dispute was verbal in nature and one person involved agreed to leave and stay with a relative.
- Police arrested a 44-year-old Clearfield man for an alleged incident of disorderly conduct and harassment.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute at a Krebs Avenue apartment. Further, a man was allegedly harassing a 47-year-old Clearfield woman and her children. Upon investigation police found the man was intoxicated and also being disorderly. The man was incarcerated at the CCJ pending arraignment.
- Police assisted the Sheriff’s Office with serving warrants on Turnpike Avenue. Further, a 37-year-old Clearfield man and a 40-year-old Clearfield woman were taken into custody on several warrants issued to the Sheriff’s Office.
DuBois City
- On Friday, a 37-year-old Bellefonte man was arrested for public drunkenness and similar misconduct after he was allegedly found under the influence of prescription drugs. Further, he allegedly continually entered and exited a business in the 600 block of Liberty Boulevard. At one point, police noted that employees observed him ingest a handful of pills. The man was transported to the hospital for an evaluation.
- A three-vehicle accident occurred Friday in the 700 block of East DuBois Avenue. Further, a Jeep operated by a 16-year-old DuBois girl cut in front of a Toyota operated by a 49-year-old DuBois woman. The Toyota struck the Jeep, which caused it to strike another Toyota operated by a 19-year-old DuBois man. Two people were transported to the hospital and two vehicles were towed from the scene, police said. DuBois City fire personnel assisted at the scene.
- Police received a report about an alarm Saturday at L.B. Toney’s on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police participated in roving DUI patrol on Saturday and issued several warnings for traffic violations. Also, police arrested a 47-year-old woman and a 38-year-old woman, both of DuBois, for DUI.
- Police received a report about an alarm Sunday at the United Way on Jared Street. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault Sunday at a business in the 200 block of West Long Avenue. Further, a 24-year-old DuBois man allegedly head-butted the victim, which knocked a tooth out of his mouth. Charges are being filed as a result of the incident, police said.
- On Sunday, a 24-year-old DuBois man was allegedly observed urinating and throwing a drink on a 1994 Honda Civic parked in the 500 block of Sylvan Drive. Charges are being filed against the man, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Friday, a resident of Hungry Hollow Road reported loud music in the area. Police checked the area and could not find anyone playing loud music.
- On Friday, Treasure Lake Security reported that someone drove a dirt bike and an all-terrain vehicle through the archery range adjacent to the Treasure Lake stables, causing damage to the grass.
- A 33-year-old Virginia man was traveling Friday on the Bee Line Highway when a deer ran into the road, causing him to hit it. Moderate damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- Police responded to an Apache Spur Road residence for an alleged domestic dispute on Friday. Upon arrival police met with a 34-year-old woman who reported she had engaged in a verbal dispute with her 33-year-old boyfriend. When she called to report the incident, he fled the residence, police said, noting there wasn’t any evidence of a physical dispute.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at Aaron’s on Saturday.
- After pulling a vehicle over for a burned out headlight on Saturday, police found the 33-year-old woman operator had an expired driver’s license and several items, which indicated the use of illegal drugs. The situation was handled without incident and charges have been filed, police said.

- On Saturday, police responded to the Sandy Club for a 48-year-old man who alleged to employees that he was mugged and the two known individuals took his phone and his boots. While police were speaking to the man, he became upset and said he wanted to go to the hospital. Police transported the man to Penn Highlands for an evaluation.
- On Saturday, an Overdorf Road resident reported that a neighbor threatened to pour gas on him and light him on fire over a parking incident. When police spoke to the neighbor, he denied the threat. The situation was handled without incident, police said.
- A 40-year-old Clear Run Road woman reported that someone was outside of her residence, shining a red laser pointer in the windows. Police searched the area but couldn’t locate anyone.
- A Wayne Road resident reported his neighbor’s dogs were barking on Sunday.
- On Sunday, a Florida woman called police to check the welfare of her 20-year-old sister who threatened to harm herself. Police located the woman who denied making any threats; the situation was handled without incident.
