Clearfield United Way Campaign Reaches 89% Mark
CLEARFIELD – Volunteers from the Clearfield Area United Way announced $16,190 in new campaign donations at a report luncheon recently at the St. Charles Café.
The new donations bring the total raised by the CAUW to $216,181.37, or 89 percent, of the $245,500 2014-15 goal. Funds raised help 24 local member agencies located throughout eastern, southern and central Clearfield County.

PENNSYLVANIA – Average retail gasoline prices in Pennsylvania have fallen 7.3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.69 per gallon yesterday, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 5,269 gas outlets in Pennsylvania.

CLEARFIELD – A Reynoldsville man accused of assaulting two people outside a DuBois home was sentenced to state prison during colloquy court in Clearfield County.

Clearfield Foundation Announces New Fund
CLEARFIELD – The Curwensville Public Library has established a special building fund with the Clearfield County Charitable Foundation.
Recently, the library received money from an estate, according to Debbie Bowser of the Curwensville Library Building Corp., and they decided the best use of the money would be to invest the money with the CCCF to allow the funds to grow.
Clearfield Commissioners Approve Budget Without Tax Increase
CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Commissioners passed a resolution finalizing its 2015 budget without any tax increase at yesterday’s regular meeting.
The county’s budget maintains real estate taxes at 18.5 mills. The millage rate has been 18.5 mills since 2011, according to previous GantDaily.com reports.
Bawden Pleads Guilty to Stealing from DuBois Employers
CLEARFIELD – A former DuBois woman charged with stealing from her employers pleaded guilty in Clearfield County Court.
Mary Beth Bawden, 53, whose address is now listed as Erie, pleaded guilty to felony counts of theft in one case and access device issued to another who did not authorize use and theft in a second case.
