Charles D. “Chuck” Eltringham, 80, of DuBois died Friday, Dec. 26, 2014 at his home.
Born March 14, 1934 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Charles H. and Esther (Hergenroder) Eltringham.
In 1959, he married Elizabeth “Betty” (Siegel) Eltringham. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He retired from Brockway Pressed Metals as foreman of the sintering department after more than 40 years of service.
He was a coach for the DuBois Panther midget football team for 38 years. He was member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church and the senior group in Brookville.
He also coached in the DuBois Little League for 13 years and enjoyed all sports, especially DuBois Beaver wrestling. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and liked to travel with his wife and friends.
He was a 51-year member of the Falls Creek F.O.E. Aerie 965 and the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17.
He’s survived by a daughter, Lori Fritz and her husband, John of DuBois; a son, David Eltringham of Brockport; two brothers, Richard Eltringham of Victorville, Calif., and Donald Hergenroder of Haneoye, NY; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and William Eltringham.
Friends will be received from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A scriptural wake service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in the St. Catherine Cemetery.
