State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Monday on Deer Creek Road south of Interstate 80 eastbound in Graham Township. Further, Jonas A. Kochan of Frenchville lost control of his vehicle on the icy roadway; it spun approximately 170 degrees counterclockwise. The Kochan vehicle subsequently struck a utility pole and mailbox on the west side before coming to a rest 20 feet off of the roadway. State police noted the Kochan vehicle sustained moderate damage and one passenger was transported to the Mount Nittany Medical Center for an evaluation and treatment. Kochan wasn’t injured and refused medical treatment at the scene; his vehicle was towed from the scene. State police were assisted by Moshannon Valley Emergency Medical Services and the Morris Township Fire Department.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of theft occurred Monday on Saxon Hill Road in Winslow Township. Further, the victim told state police that 50 Adderall pills were taken from their residence. State police noted that there weren’t any signs of entry into the residence; no further information is available at this time.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Friday and Monday along Route 153 about one mile from Route 255 in Huston Township. During the incident, someone allegedly pulled electric wires from PennDOT’s sign. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at DuBois at 814-371-4652.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between Dec. 8 and Monday on Elm Drive in Spring Creek Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged the rear door of the victim’s camp.
- An incident of theft by deception occurred sometime between Nov. 21 and Dec. 4 in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly obtained the victim’s VISA account and made numerous purchases at various retail locations in Tacoma, Wash. The total value of the purchases was $25,281.45, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police assisted Clearfield emergency personnel with a possible overdose patient. The male, police said, reportedly consumed a large amount of Benadryl; he was subsequently transported to Clearfield Penn Highlands.
- Police received a report about a suspicious man in the area of Woodland Road, Dorey Street and East 10th Upon arrival police located a 36-year-old Clearfield man. He had several warrants against him and was turned over to the Lawrence Township police.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute involving a husband and wife in the 300 block of Leavy Avenue. The wife left the residence to stay with a friend, police said.
- Police have initiated an investigation into a hit- and-run accident that occurred on Martin Street. Further, the operator of a vehicle struck a parked pick-up truck and fled the scene.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged theft from the Susquehanna Veterinarian Clinic. Further, a 30-year-old Clearfield woman received services for a pet but left without paying for them.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle in the Hill Crest Cemetery. Upon investigation police found a Clearfield man and an Erie man were smoking controlled substances. Charges will be filed at the magistrate’s office upon completion of the investigation, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Sunday, a West Liberty Road woman reported seeing two individuals with flashlights behind her house. Police searched behind the house and could not find any evidence of anyone being there.
- Police received a false alarm Sunday from Bon Ton.
- On Sunday, a 45-year-old Treasure Lake man reported that overnight someone drove through his yard, causing damage to his 9-1-1 address marker and to mulch and shrubs.
- On Monday, a 36-year-old Woodland man was seen by Wal-Mart employees leaving the store with a laptop he had not paid for. When police arrived, the man was sitting on a bench in the front of the store. He was arrested and charges were filed against him, police said.
- Police received a report about a child alone in a vehicle Monday in the Wal-Mart parking lot. When police arrived, they found the child’s father lying down in the car. The situation was handled without incident, police said.
